My cap is dirty, how do I wash it?Updated a year ago

We recommend using the New Era Cap Cleaning Kit and the New Era Cap Brush to keep your caps fresh.

To clean your cap with a brush and cleaning kit:

1. Use the cap brush remove all superficial dust and lint from the crown and visor.

2. Wet your headwear under warm running water and apply freshener generously 3-4 inches away, applying generously to to the inside/outside the sweatband to saturate. Let cap sit for 10-15 minutes. If cleaning a hat made of wool, such as MLB headwear from our authentic collection, only apply the freshener to the dirty areas.

3. Using the soft brush within the cleaning kit to gently brush the sweatband, by folding the band forward and scrubbing, removing any stains or marks. Repeat process until sweatband is no longer dirty. You can dip the brush in warm water for polyester caps, or cooler water for wool headwear.

4. Air dry away from direct sunlight or heat. Put the cap on every 10 minutes to ensure it does not shrink.
